Insuring your Spanish Holiday
The fear of the unknown! People tend to fear certain events such as being stranded in a foreign country, becoming ill or incapacitated, being unable to travel home due to factors outside of their control and the safety of their family should they be unable to care for them.
Even if you're not off on your jollies that often, annual travel insurance usually works out cheaper than two or three single-trip policies. So by the time you've had a week in a private luxury villa and a long weekend break in Barcelona, you should have several more euros to spend on your next Spanish holiday.
Some insurers offer optional golf cover includes damaged, lost or stolen golf equipment and the loss of green fees.
So if you're off for two weeks by the pool in a Spanish private luxury villa, weekend break in the beautiful city of Barcelona or Costa del sol for a round or two of golf. Don't forget to get insured!
Getting to Spain
One of the reasons why Spain is so popular with British people is it's accessibility. Spain is just a couple of hours away by air, and with low cost airlines offering passengers fantastic deals, it has made commuting to Spain from the UK an easy hassle-free experience. However, if you want to take your car, there is an excellent ferry service from the UK, and once in Spain, the Spanish roads are surprisingly driver-friendly. Or if you want someone else to take the care of the driving take a coach or the Train!
Golf in Spain
A longtime favorite of Europeans, Spain's Costa del Sol is home to one of the highest concentrations of world-class golf courses to be found anywhere in the world.
Located in the Andalucia region of southern Spain, the Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del Golf - 'the Golf Coast', offering no less than sixty courses within a small geographic area. If linked together in a straight line, the courses would stretch from one end of the Costa to the other, but designed by famous names such as Nicklaus, Ballesteros and Olazabal, the holes zigzag from the beaches to the hills, through forests and over lakes.
Among the many fine courses located along this stretch of the Mediterranean coast is Valderrama, site of the 1997 Ryder Cup Matches, and San Roque, the winter home of the European PGA.
Andalucia is a melting pot of culture and entertainment. With flamenco dancing, bull fighting, tapas bars and passionate, carefree and friendly people, Spain has all the ingredients for a truly memorable trip on and off the golf course.
